I do not usually write reviews but feel I need to on this occasion as I wasn't able to thank everyone before I left. I had a total hip replacement on Monday 30th June. To say I was terrified on admission is an understatement, but the professional and caring staff put me at ease and reassured me that everything would be fine. The anaesthetist came to see me to discuss the type of anaesthetics available. The surgeon came to discuss the procedure and tell me what time he would operate. Other people came to explain what would happen during the day so, before the operation I had calmed down immensely. The care and treatment by the physio, care assistants, nurses, doctor and the rest of the staff were both caring and professional, after the operation, comfort and pain levels were continually monitored and reviewed. This was my first hospital experience and I was quiet nervous having read numerous negative news articles about our NHS but I have to say, my personal experience was a positive one and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Alexandria hospital to anyone needing a total hip replacement. Could you please pass on my thanks to the surgeon and the surgical team, and also all the wonderful staff on ward 16.
"Excellent treatment and care given during my stay"
