"Day Case Surgery - Excellent Care and Service"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

I recently underwent a surgical procedure to remove my gallbladder at the Wansbeck Hospital. The entire process from initial referal (via A&E) to my consultation with the doctor and subsequent appointment through your day case surgical unit (Ward 15) was exemplary. At a time when the media seem to only run negative stories and the headlines condemn poor standards of quality and care I would like to take this opportunity to formally thank eveyone involved in my treatment and care. The nursing staff on ward 15 were especially good, however it is worth recording that every single member of staff who I had contact with from the porters, ward and theatre support staff, consultants, anethatists and receptionists were all friendly, professional, caring, and above all very reassuring during this naturally stressful time.

It is always a pleasure receiving posts of this kind as it not only is appreciated by our staff and a vital boost to their moral, but it also reinforces the importance of high quality care that we strive to provide as a team every day. I believe our staff work incredibly hard to ensure that the care they provide is of the highest quality and that they also understand the importance of kindness at times when patients and families can naturally feel at their most vulnerable. It means everything to them to have these efforts acknowledged by the people that matter most. Thank you.
