"Gone downhill rapidly"

About: Zachary Merton Hospital

There is no discussion with family as to what treatment /medication my mother is on. There appears to be virtually no help to get her mobile again after breaking her hip and she remains in chair constantly. She has had "an accident" whilst in their care where she fell out of hoist and required stitches by paramedics to a deep gash on her injured leg and now has a huge haematoma on the back of her leg. She sits all day with no stimulation, as she is registered blind and cannot read. There is no radio, television or change of scenery for her. On visiting she says she fears she will never see her home or her beloved cat ever again and am I going to die in here. This is the worst care I have ever experienced in a so called hospital and many of our family are employed in the caring and nursing profession. What has happened to Zachery Merton Hospital !!!!!

I'm very concerned to read your comments about how we seem to be caring for your mother at the hospital. We can't investigate this for you at this moment as you have posted your comment anonymously. But please speak as a matter of urgency with any member of the nursing team or contact our service experience team (Tel: 01273 242292 Email: sc-tr.serviceexperience@nhs.net) so we can explore with you in greater detail what might have happened here.
