"Wating time in A+E"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital (Taunton)

I had the misfortune of having something hit my left eye whilst mowing the lawn, this was on a Saturday afternoon, my eye was beginning to show signs that all was not well by 11.00 pm that evening. At 4.00 am on Sunday morning I awoke in much pain and my eye was closed up and very infected. I arrive at the A+E department at around 4.20 am, I was ushered into a cubicle at around 5.30 am, I had to wait in the cubicle for nearly 3 hours before being seen. I have no complaints with regard to my treatment when it was administered but the wait i felt was a long one. On top of that I had to pay £5.85 to leave the car park. I was home by 9.00am Sunday morning.

I have just read your comments and I am sorry to read that you injured your eye whilst mowing your lawn. I am pleased that your eye was treated in the A&E Department at Musgrove Park but I am sorry to read that you felt the wait was too long. If you would like to discuss this further then please contact the Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) at Musgrove Park Hospital and speak to one of our PALS Officers. Please telephone: 01823 343536 or e-mail the team: pals@tst.nhs.uk Lucille Hoose. PALS & Complaints Lead
