"admissions ward B1"

About: Rotherham Hospital

My elderly mum has been admitted several times and every time we hear Rotherham hospital our hearts sink a little further. The care is hopeless. In A And E after being admitted with sepsis, bloods were taken but not labelled and weere repeated 4 hours later after the mistake was uncoveref by a doctor on tge ward. Her canula was torn out accidently by a nurse who then blamed mum who has no grip at all due to arthritis let alone be strong enogh to rip out a canula. Her bed was moved while still atrached tooxygen abd it wasn't until she squealed that this was noticed. Attached to a drip that was beeping for over 20 minutes i pointed out to the nurse that the monitor said "air in line". I asked if they were trying to give my mother an air bubble to which the nurse replued " we hope not". My mum was placed in a ward with 3 men and we were told no other space was available. My sistee walked into the next bsy, room for 6 bedds, 2 made up ready to accept new patients. She pointed this out and mum was moved. At no point were we told whst was wrong with her. I have read the diagnosis from her file myself. They say tgey will do swabs abd tests and 24 hours later we are still waiting. Sepsis us life threatening. She has ither life threatenjng conditions and as her family we are patronised by the nurses who brush off our concerns. The ladies in the ward yesterday were given a small tub of ice cream and when they asked for spoons they were told to eat it with the lid!! And this is care is it? I am disgusted at her treatment and lack of even common courtedsy. Those nurses will be old themselves one day. She has been handly so roughly she is bruised! I hope to god this is the last time she ever has to come to this hospital!!
