Had an eye problem and had been referred by the optician via the gp to the eye unit. For whatever reason, no appointment letter was received and day by day the eye was getting worse. I had been thinking about going to A&E but put it off as didn't feel it was an emergency and was still waiting for a letter. Eventually though something had to be done so I went there feeling pretty apprehensive and stressed about the whole thing. The staff were all helpful and I didn't have to wait too long maybe an hour or so until being referred straight away to the eye clinic. At the clinic, again although I didn't have an appointment I was seen in pretty quick time. The staff were quite laid back and friendly which put me at my ease and the problem was dealt with in no time as they ell knew what they were doing. I just wish I had gone sooner rather than endure days of pain and stress. Would not hesitate to go again if necessary and all staff were efficient and helpful.
