"Emetophobia and panic disorder therapy "

About: Inclusion Matters Liverpool

(as the patient),

My experience with inclusion matters was rocky at first (all my doing). With the stigma attached to mental health and seeing a therapist I was reluctant about even going, so with a Failed first attempt and then having to be moved due to not being able to travel to the clinic I was assigned to (all of which the service was more than happy to accommodate with).

I pulled up my socks and accepted the help I knew I so desperately needed. That was 6 months ago and I can't tell you how different of a place I'm at now due to my therapist at inclusion matters! The sense of relief I felt about being able to share my problems with someone who GOT IT! ! Was amazing, I immediately felt a weight had been lifted!

When I started my therapy I was hardly leaving the house, the thought of going the corner shop would give me a panic attack and I felt so helpless and alone! The Inclusion matters therapist made me see I wasn't, gave me hope that it would get better and made me believe that I would be able to function again!

Now don't get me wrong it wasn't all plain sailing, I had my ups and downs and days I wanted to give up and never leave my house again but my therapist helped me realise that a few bad days are ok..as long as your willing to put in the hard work and want to change your life you can! And that's what I did!

Now that I've finished my course of therapy (I did 20 weeks) I can see a future, I know how to deal with the bad days and I have the tools to function like me again!

I couldn't be more happier about my decision in taking inclusion matters help and I wouldn't hesitate in taking it again if needed! Wonderful service, thank you

Dear Emet1,

Thankyou for sharing your personal experience of therapy. As you highlight from your experience, starting therapy isn't easy and it can be hard work along the journey to recovery. We understand this and I am pleased that we were able to be flexible in order to meet your needs. I am pleased that you did persevere with your sessions and that you have now got a more psitive outlook towards the future and feel better equipped to cope with future difficulties.

Best Wishes

Tracey
