"Long delay for blood test"

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

Disappointed that there was a 1.5 hour wait today for a blood test and the waiting room was spilling out of the door. If you can't cope with the numbers of people you attract then you need a booking system. I abandoned the attempt and went to Stevenage where the wait was even longer!! (which they blamed on the first day of a new system). Previously I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes.

On 1 May 2014, the majority of NHS pathology services (which includes blood testing) in six hospitals across the East of England transferred to a new NHS organisation called the Pathology Partnership - or tPP for short. We are very concerned to read your experience, as this reflect badly on us as well. We'll make sure that your comments are passed to the tPP team. In the meantime, please accept our apologies for the delay you experienced at the QEII.
