"Renal transplant at the Liverpool Royal"

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital

I received a kidney transplant in dec 13.First off I would like to say how brilliant the renal coordinators were. They made me very at ease and let me know what was happening every step of the way.The whole team on 9a are truly wonderful and all have a great soh which helps to keep your spirits high. The one and only downside is at clinic , you never get to see the same consultant every time you go.I know this isnt possible as there are many renal patients but it sometimes causes a communication breakdown and you find yourself chasing quite a few things up.But all in all a fantastic hospital and would like to give a special mention to the renal coordinator and the doctor who performed the surgery a huge thank you to both and the rest of the team.

Thank you for your comments and valuable feedback. We have passed this on to the Kidney Transplant team and staff on 9A. As you point out it isn't always possible to see the same consultant as they can be called away to carry out a transplant at short notice. But the team may be able to think of better ways to avoid you having to chase things up yourself. Maybe you could mention this next time you visit. Thanks again for taking the time to provide feedback on our service.
