"Unnecessary wait for a 9 year old"

About: Wycombe Hospital

I am very disappointed with the care received for my 9 year old. My husband took her to Minor Injuries Unit at 7pm and was left waiting for 3 hours only to be told that the xray machine didn't work and to come back the next day!!!! Having gone back the next day and had it xrayed we were then told we needed to get it checked at the fracture clinic and they would send us an appointment. It is now 10 days later and I still haven't received an appointment. She was sent home with a special stint to keep her hand in and until we know if it is fractured or not she has to wear it. With the hot weather it is uncomfortable and she is unable to do any of the sports activities she likes to do. We were not sent home with a letter or anything and having been to my doctor this morning she has received nothing from the hospital and told me to call the MIU who have referred me to the fracture clinic which I have now been on hold for six minutes with!!!This is not the sort of service I expect for a 9 year old.
