What I liked

When our son took ill whilst on holidays from Australia we ended up in the A and E. The staff were obviously busy but took the utmost care of our son. When it was decided that Aidan needed to have his apendix removed immediately the doctors and nurses made us feel as at ease as they could. The whole experience at the Royal London was one of care and professionalism.

The staff in Ocean Ward are amazing! The Sister runs a ward where the patients feel comfortable and valued. Her nursing staff are a credit to her. The care they provided was fantastic. They made us feel at ease in a difficult situation so far from home. When our other 3 sons came to visit their brother, they commented on how great he was being treated. The care given to his mother during this time was comforting and appreciated!!

The experience whilst not anticipated has left us with a very positive feeling towards the health system and most importantly the health workers.

To say that our sons care was exceptional feels understated. We are glad of the opportunity to have some forum to publicly acknowledge the great work being done by the staff.

What could be improved

The facilities at Royal London are dated and updating would be an obvious advantage in improving patient care for all patients. The staff do a fantastic job given the conditions they are working in.

Anything else?

Thank you to all the staff involved in treating and monitoring our son. He has made a full recovery and went on to thoroughly enjoy the rest of his first overseas holiday.
