About: St Helier Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was given my own room., which was very nice, glad i didnt have to be in a ward full of people chatting.the majority of the nurses were very nice and caring,I was pleasantly surprised having seen family not treated very well.

What could be improved

It smelled of Damp, i was either left alone for hours, or constantly woken up the food and drinks were hard to find. Most of the staff were respectful, one was rude, whilst bringing me back from theatre, and clearly thought i couldnt hear her personal remarks!! once back in my room, one didnt seem to want to be bothered by patients, told me i could go home, swiftly followed by someone else saying i had to stay over night! The Night staff talked all night in the corridors, they should realise that noise travels and sick people want to sleep!!

Anything else?

The dragging and moving of trolleys makes and enourmous noise, and it is very disturbing when one is just out of theatre, people shouting to each other in the corridors - hospitals used to be quiet places, it was just very very noisy,
