"A complete waste of an appointment"

About: Harrogate District Hospital

The Heart Specialist I saw was not in the slightest bit interested in my ever increasing blood pressure, and the lacunar infarction I had suffered fromI had to be referred back to Leeds for proper treatment which is still ongoing, My appointment with this Specialist lasted less than 5 minutes and was of no use whatsoever not recommended at all

Dear Mr Gillson Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your experience. We are sorry to learn that you did not feel you received high quality care during your consultation. Having reviewed your notes, we can see that during the 30 minute consultation, which is standard for new Cardiology patients, the Consultant carried out an ECG, Height and Weight measurement, BMI calculation, undertook a physical examination, listened for heart and lung sounds, took your blood pressure, observed for peripheral oedema. and discussed your symptoms in detail. Following this, the Consultant wrote to your GP advising a course of treatment. We always aim to provide high quality care to our patients and I am sorry that you do not feel that this was the case for you. Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. Yours sincerely Chris Watt Head of Communications Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust
