Quite simply the worst experience of my entire life from the moment I arrived. Sat in a large room of fear stricken women with a nurse shouting names out from a doorway. My name was shouted and she had got my first name wrong. Seen by an off-hand consultant who did not introduce himself so I cannot give you his name. Told me my lump looked iffy and sinister which was very frightening. Waited 4 hours to be passed through each different section. The consultant stood in the doorway and told me I needed further tests then left me floundering. I had to find a nurse in the corridor to ask her what he meant by iffy and sinister. She read my notes and said things looked suspicious and to prepare myself for surgery. Left feeling exhausted and bereft and made an instant decision that the consultant would not be doing any surgery on me. Nothing personal about any aspect ,I felt herded and had lost my identity and was shocked at the whole impersonal attitude of the consultant. Quite simply it was so absolutely dreadful that I transferred to the Royal Marsden in London. The difference was startling! Impeccable doctors, nurses and consultant who shook hands and treated individually with care and respect. Had everything explained and was encouraged to ask as many questions as possible. You have a lot to learn Jasmine Centre. Disgraceful !
