"No Welcome at Blackburn"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

Had to visit Royal Blackburn Hospital last night at 8,30pm to pick up a friend who had been admitted via A&E earlier in the day. Used main entrance with huge reception area, capable of accommodating 4 or 6 receptionists but not one receptionist in sight. Why have a reception if you can't be bothered to staff it? Had to go back to A&E to find out which ward my friend was on. Hardly surprising that A & E staff are over worked when they have to do non emergency reception duties because main reception is closed. First impressions are always important but this opinion is obviously not shared by the Management Team at Royal Blackburn.
