"Thank you"

I know now that angels do exist in the form of my Consultant. I have been in agonising pain now for over three months but this kind man agreed to give me a cervical epidural yesterday to help with the pain until I have my operation at Queens Hospital. I awoke this morning, after having a full night's sleep for over three months and expecting the usual agonising pain where I run into the bathroom and sink into a hot bath to try and relieve it a bit. But no, I awoke this morning with mild pain, a pain that I can bear. Even morphine did not bring down my pain level to this point and I am so truly grateful to this Consultant and his expertise. I watched him working with other patients whilst I was in recovery and he was so into his work in helping patients. What a kind, clever and ethical doctor he is. I cannot also forget the wonderful staff in the day unit at Orsett Hospital. Their kindness and care knew no bounds. Thank you to them also. I have every faith that this pain will lessen even more as the days go by and I just pray that all this Consultant's hard work lasts me until I get my operation but even if it doesn't, I am still grateful to have just al short respite from the excruciating pain for a while.
