My 86 years old father was transferred to Grimsby from Scunthorpe following a major stroke. Since being at Grimsby his condition has deteriorated day by day. The only way we have been able to get information is by kicking up a fuss. We have been told diametrically opposed things by the consultant, registrar & junior doctors. The ward has so many staff that you don't see the same ones two days running & there appears to be little if any passing on of information between them. The nursing staff don't seem to actually look at their patients. My father had red sire eyes that had to be pointed out to them. He's unable to swallow & his lips wet stuck together & when this was mentioned the staff seemed surprised that there wasn't a lip & mouth cleaning kit on his bedside. his visitors are using the kit & putting Vaseline on his dry. peeling lips & nose which is sore from an NG tube but no one seems to notice or care I just find every aspect of his care woefully inadequate..
"Total lack of empathy, compassion & communication"
