Our son Thomas was taken to casualty at the Northern General on 29th November at approximately 11:10. He was seen immediately and was referred for an operation and was on a pre-op ward by 11:45. The staff in all areas were excellent and very mindful of the fact that Thomas was autistic. The staff worked hard to keep Thomas comfortable and as informed as was possible. They spoke to him lots and kept his morale high.
Everything went swiftly and we were home by 22:30 that night.

Thomas was also in Northern General in June and standards then were very poor on that ward (Firth 5). Cleanliness was appalling and attention to detail was awful, but this time it was noticeable that the cleanliness was excellent. Well done!!
