"Excellent Endoscopy procedure in Day Care unit"

Had a colonoscopy on 23rd June. Excellent service from the day care unit staff - nurses outstanding in their care and explanation, I was made to feel at ease. Doctor performing the procedure was superb. Good communication and teamwork between the nurses and other staff. My only negatives would be - sharing a 6 bed 'ward' with both sexes was a little embarrassing; conducting discussion with nurse about intimate details with only a curtain for privacy was again embarrassing as I could overhear other patients' conversations and therefore they could overhear mine; part of the procedure (having a tube inserted in my nostril) was not mentioned before and came as a surprise; and a noticeable gap between the toilet door and door frame let me see outside while on the loo! All in all, the NHS staff and their conduct that day made me proud of the NHS.
