"Learning disabilities"

About: Torbay Hospital

I recently had reason to visit Torbay Hospital with my daughter who has learning disabilities. Our first visit was to the Consultant Gynaecologist, on arrival at reception a senior nurse came to meet us and took us to a room to wait, the Consultant arrived and introduced himself, he spoke directly to my daughter even though she could not reply which showed respect, the appointment went very well. A further appointment was made in the ultra sound department. Again at this appointment we were treated well and the staff were very helpful. Both these occasions were made a lot easier due to the helpfulness of the staff and the respect given to my daughter. My thanks to the staff involved at Torbay Hospital.
