I was very nervous when I had to go for an angiogram. There were no obvious symptoms to cause me concern as I was prompted by my daughter to go. I just assumed I was doing too much (I am 65 and very active). I had an ECG treadmill test and the results were not too good. I was in denial about them. My experience in the ward was initially positive with the staff very friendly and making me laugh. I was still nervous when the doctor seemed to have a hard time getting the canular in place. I was given some sedatives to help. I procedure went unnoticed and I was glad for it to be finished. Whilst I rested on the ward the staff made me feel good as they made me laugh. I was allowed home around 4pm. I had a lot of bruising and the wound was quite sore. I was not happy with the findings and I had to go back in for the 18th Dec for treatment again through the groin.
The next morning i had a welcome follow up call from the Catheter Suite but I had nothing to complain about. I think these days people have such high expectations and low levels of patience and understanding. Some love to complain. I have no time for them because I believe the staff seem to do the best they can under the policies imposed by the government.
