I went to A&E on a Sunday because of severe swelling in my left leg. I though it was Cellulitis as I'd had it before and it was. I waited about 2 hours to be seen by two doctors who were both excellent. They really looked after me and answered all my questions of which there were many and treated me with respect and dignity throughout. I really couldn't fault them. Because there was a chance I might have a blood clot in my leg I was transferred to the Medical Assessment Unit with a chance that I would have to be admitted and was led to a lovely single room to await a doctor. A short time later another doctor arrived and after a chat it was decided I could go home and have a scan the next day. They were fantastic and just like in A&E he answered my questions and treated me with dignity and respect at all times. I was at the hospital for around 8 hours in total and the scan next day showed I didn't have a blood clot. For me the whole experience was brilliant as have been my previous visits to Sandwell. Of course you have to wait for different things but this should be expected, and yes the waiting time in A&E seriously needs to be looked at and improved but I would definitely recommend Sandwell.
