I needed light therapy because of my skin condition and was honestly not looking forward to having this treatment because of the embarrassment my condition has always caused me. I should not have worried as the staff were absolutely fantastic, making me feel at ease and not a bit self concious. The treatment was a great success and I am determined to carry on the good work now that I have been discharged. The advice that I was given and the regime of creaming my skin every day means the condition that had got out of hand is now manageable, I have even started wearing shorts again and short sleeve shirts, something I have not done for quite a time. It is the staff that makes a good hospital great, you can have all the machines in the world doing all sorts of amazing things but unless you have empathic staff well trained and friendly then you have lost the battle before you have started, this includes any sort of treatment, be it light therapy or cancer treatment. I have always found the staff at the conquest Hospital to be above average compared to any other Hospital and would like to thank all the staff and the people that work hard to make our local Hospital the best that it can be.
