"An Accolade for the staff of ward 6 Hairmeyers Hospital"

About: Hairmyres Hospital / General Medicine

(as a relative),

My father was admitted to ward 6 with advanced bowel cancer. He was in Hospital for a total of 8 weeks and then he passed away on ward 6 in late May 2014.

I would like it to be known that the nursing staff from the tea ladies to the Staff nurses and nurses were just excellent in my opinion. I found them very caring and very helpful and they all came across to me and my family as very sympathetic to our father who was dying.

After Dad passed away they even put flowers and a scented candle in the room and displayed his get well cards from friends and family. This was, in my opinion, a very caring touch and went way beyond the call of duty. I would like to say a big and sincere thank you to all the doctors and staff of Ward Six.

Dear Jimmyk,

Thank you for taking the time to write down your lovely comments about the staff in Ward 6, especially at such a difficult time for you and your family. This is greatly appreciated and I will pass on your comments to all those who were involved in your father's care.

I am so pleased to note your comments about the sympathy and understanding displayed by the staff, especially with the flowers and the scented candle It is this very compassion that we all look and hope for at times like this and it is great to see that the Ward 6 team demonstrated this so well for your father and all your family.

Please accept my most sincere condolences and also my very best wishes.

Kind Regards

David
