I have in a very short space of time had several inpatient experiences with serious background illness. The first experience was the best of the NHS. But after this things became sloppy.and deteriorted. The most recent was disgusting that I will avoid King's as a substandard hospital. I was moved three times. In the first ward- Oliver- patients were evacuated as the patient in the bed next to me had an infection requiring isolation- this should have been picked up before putting people like me in the next bed at any risk. I had to endure isolation for some days as a result, wit fear of a hospital acquired infection on top of pneumonia. Nurses did not give medication at the correct times (my own - prescribed by another hospital I attend because KCH is not at the 'forefront' of my illness. I was not allowed to take my medicines myself correctly on time on Twinng ward. The sister when told about noisy staff keeping me and others awake with their 'party' spirtts outside my room product an eye mask and ear plugs as a suitable response to bad staff behaviours. I had mouse running around my bed on the ward with droppings in my bedside cabinet with no one taking action for two weeks- until other patients too saw the mouse. To top it all doctors failed to pick up I had likely pneumonia until it had rapidly progressed so I could not breath- having seen mostly junior doctors initially who stated i did not have pneumonia, but would be started treatment as if i had because of high temperature spikes.. This is a poor quality setting with lack of excellence or skilled enough doctors to be treating patients like myself. I know more about my illness / comorbidities than they. appear to have. Too many juniors. and few really good nurses with high skilll levels.
"inconsistent standards and poor quality nurses/..."
