My daughter recently was compelled to attend your hospital, [27-30.4.2014] having never been in any hospital. We thought you should be made aware of our observations of her treatment: • She was admitted as an emergency surgical case, to the care of a Consultant Surgeon. In our opinion she owes her life probably to the decision making and surgical skills of this person. He acted whereas several of our GPs simply prevaricated. • Her hospitalisation was confined to Wards D1 and D6 Room 15 • All contacts with the Sisters and all of their staff of these Wards have been friendly, polite, helpful, caring and efficient [rare experiences these days] • The Welcome from your staff at your reception desks was similar • In view of her very poor condition your staff decided to prioritise her treatment and we are very grateful. • She had not been to hospital previously and that fact combined with the trauma of her injury made her terrified of the QA • Your staff did everything in their powers to ease her anxiety during her stay • I asked one of your staff why she always had a smile on her face and her memorable reply was ‘when I arrive at work I think to myself it is not me in one of these beds’ – just brilliant thinking • Based upon our experiences we would highly recommend the QA as a hospital of excellence – we have provided some rather prestigious boxes of chocolates to the Wards.
