I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to the my consultant and theTeam on Willoughby Ward for repair of a Spigeiian hernia and an impacted bowell. At no time did I feel frightened, uninformed or alone. And whilst I had to wait until the early hours of the morning for an operation the reassurance of the surgeon between his operations was kind and reassuring. The nursing staff were confident and efficient but with caring and there was good 'team' atmosphere. Thank you, to the nurse who gave me a cup of Horlicks late one evening when I was feeling cold and vulnerable. Thank you too to the 'super soup' makers in the kitchens who gave me my first taste of food for a week! The kindness shown to release me quickly when I called my husband to come and collect me too soon was impressive.
