"I'm disappointed"

About: East Surrey Hospital

My father is still admitted at the easy surrey hospital; we brought him into emergency on Sunday night with severe infection and pain. The nursing staff is very cooperative and friendly, but I am very disappointed with the doctors in charge of our ward. After requesting several times for a wound review, creatinine levels the doctor comes in late and is usually always in a hurry and not answering most question. My dad is an overseas patient so Obviosly I understand that the payment for the treatment is private but this is the first nhs hospital that has asked us for a fee/payment deposit before giving is full treatment. My dad has gotten treatment at Leeds teaching hospital and even queen elizabeth hospital. Both bigger and more renown then east surrey hospital, neither asked us for payment before giving treatment. In fact, I was not giving an invoice or detail of the bill and just told to "deposit" 2000GBP, the second day my dad was here. I feel this is quite a distressing practice bombarding the already stressed family members with payments and bills when the patient is still admitted. I mean I gave all my details and my billing addresses, it not like we will be running away from here! I'm a British resident and I live here so obviously I'm a law abiding citizen who is prompt with each and every payment down to the last penny. My dad is a patient with a nacrotic diabetic foot and source of his infection is a wound on the foot, which hasn't been given a changed dressing since Sunday night even though it has been requested quite a few times. No doubt yeh nursing staff is friendly, but the doctor in charge of out ward is really not very helpful. I am glad there is free wifi in the hospital, that is one of the plus sides of the hospital
