"Great care from community matron"

About: Central Lancashire PCT / Community nursing Chorley & South Ribble Hospital / Cardiology

(as a carer),

My husband took ill in the middle of the night after the matron had finished her shift (she finishes at 4.00pm). So the doctor called an ambulance which took him to Chorley Hospital as his chest had to be stabilised. he was given various inhalers as he had something wrong with his heart. The staff at the hospital provided good care. Now that my husband is at home he can call the matron who can intervene and stop it from becoming a serious problem by supplying antibiotics quickly. I am very thankful to the community matron because without he would have been worse off without her.

Dear Shrub26

The experience that you have told about your husband's care is encouraging.

The Community Matron Service at NHS Central Lancashire has amongst its service aims helping to prevent emergency admissions to hospital because a patient's symptoms have got out of hand. It appears in your case that your husband has been able to benefit greatly from the Matron's input.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I will share this story with the Community Matron Team so that they are made aware of the compliment about the care and treatment provided.
