I needed an operation to remove a wisdom tooth root. I have heard and seen some bad practice at this hospital so was not too keen on having the operation there.
I am very pleased to say that it was a very good experience. We were met and greeted with smiles. I have been using private medical care until this ended last year and one of the things that they did was to treat their patients as people and greet you on arrival and smile. It costs nothing to do this but means so much
All the staff I came into contact with in the women's day centre were polite, helpful, friendly and informative. The whole area was clean. There was a delay due to an earlier operation over-running but this was explained to us.
Possible problems were explained clearly, the check in procedure was closely followed with no feeling of being rushed. The student nurses were watched and helped carefully and were very enthusiastic and caring.
The anaesthetists were very good and helpful. I hardly felt the cannula being inserted and there is hardly a bruise now it is out. They talked to me while this was being done so my attention was not on it being inserted
The whole experience was very positive and should be a role model for the hospital. I have visited this hospital either for myself or my husband and most of these experiences have been very poor so today was a display of what they can and should be doing
