My mother was transferred to Cherry Tree, after a few weeks at Stepping Hill. When we 1st visited I was appalled. The hospital looks like an abandoned army barracks, the walls are crumbling and paint is peeling off the walls. Inside is much better and the staff seem friendly and caring. I was quite shocked however, when a nurse who couldn't reach the board above Mum's bed, actually stood on the bed in her outdoor shoes! So much for cleaning your hands on entry to the ward!
