"I needed help, i got all the help I needed"

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

I came to a&e knowing that my appointment for removal and re-site of my ICD unit was in the pipe line, but things had taken a turn for the worse and the unit needed urgent attention. the instant action and response, despite the bank holiday, was beyond that i had expected. i was soon in ward 35 and felt safe, the doctor response was without undue delay, and the removal of the device under a general was i think the next day. i was able to request the doctor, whom i trusted, being the Dr who had fitted my first device in 2005. having a general anaesthetic with my heart condition was an act of faith on my part, in the man. the nursing care and attention i received there after was beyond good, at my age the kindness and courtesy are important

Thank you for your comments posted on the Patient Opinion website regarding the care you received from our Accident and Emergency Department. It was very kind of you to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects their hard work and dedication. It was reassuring to hear that you thought that the treatment you received from the A&E Staff as well as the Ward 35’s staff made you feel safe and that your emergency was immediately attended to. We can assure you that we have passed on your thoughts to the managers of both Departments and the staff involved.
