I am a second year child nursing student and was recently on a 10 week placement with the Denbydale and Kirkburton Health visiting team.

I thoroughly enjoyed this placement with such a friendly team of health visitors. All of the team members gave a high standard of patient care at all times. The health visitors are very approachable and built up a good rapport with all of their clients. I was given many learning opportunities and learnt a lot from this placement. It enhanced my knowledge, as well as my confidence and communication skills. Special thanks go to Rachel Haughey for being such a wonderful mentor, she supported me throughout the placement and taught me all about health visiting, child development and much more.
