"Cove Ward"

Please note cove ward is not a same sex unit. On several occasions when visiting my husband there were naked women roaming the corridors. This is totally unacceptable as they were in a communal area i.e where patients make there coffee etc. The nursing staff just seem to ignore this and seem quite amused by it. I would like our son and daughter (both over 40 years old) but would not want them to encounter this, also some of his friends have expressed a desire to visit but we have made excuses so that they won't Very unacceptable behaviour

Thank you for leaving your comment about Cove Ward. Jon Williams, Modern Matron, has said that Cove and Dune wards are mixed sex units upon which there are communal areas where the patients mix. Nursing staff have identified the issue which has been highlighted and are acting upon it. All safeguarding measures in regard to preserving individual’s dignity have and are being sought and we are continually reviewing our patient's care. I am sorry you do not feel comfortable bringing members of your family to the ward at present. If you would like to meet with Jon Williams to explore how we could help you with this issue please contact PALS on the number below. Best wishes Jo Collins, AWP PALS Manager PALS: 0800 073 1778/ 01249 468261
