"Very pleased but...."

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

I was refered in january by my opticians, I had all the tests etc then in May I had my cataracts operation on my lazy (left eye) At Dewsbury hospital. I was somewhat suprised to be told I had been discharged, I asked when I would have my right eye operated on and was told I would have to be refered again ? Mid June and I receive letter from Pontefract infirmary asking me attend for outpatients visit for my Right eye, (less than two months ago this was done in Dewsbury) I don't live anywhere near Ponteract, So I cancel my appointment only to find out I'll be refered back to my optican. What a complete shambles.

We would be pleased to arrange for any concerns to be investigated if the patient would like to contact us directly. With regard to the comment about Pontefract Hospital, this, together with Pinderfields and Dewsbury and District Hospital, forms part of the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. Outpatient services are provided at all 3 sites and waiting times can often be shorter at one site than another, enabling us to offer quicker access.
