What I liked
My mother, for over twelve months, has suffered with stomach pain and a lot of other symptoms. She is a retired nurse who has dedicated 30 years of her life to this profession. Of course, she is no fool to the the symptoms she has experienced, and repeatedly told the consultant who was dealing with her case where the problem was. This fell on deaf ears. He decided to test other areas which, of course, showed no abnormalities. He told my mother he was at a loss to the problem. After repeated visits to the hospital - my mother was made to feel silly and that there was nothing wrong with her. In the end, my mothers GP suggested that she had another test (by the same consultant), the area where my mother had suggested all along - now she's been diagnosed with cancer. I am so bitter and angry.
What could be improved
That doctors and nurses LISTEN to their patients. Computers can't listen.
Anything else?
I can say a lot because this isn't a first instance - but what's the use? Who cares?
"My mother, for over twelve months, ..."
