"Disgraceful care at heartlands hospital "

About: Heartlands Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I was a patient on ward 4 I was mistreated by nurses i feel.

I was left without pain relief for hours in the worse pain iv experienced in my life I had key hole surgery on my lung and there was dirt and dust around my bed.

iv lost 2 stone being in hospital.

I seen a dietician who made a lot of promises but never kept them so I went days without proper food. My partner had to go food shopping for me and bring food to me otherwise I would of been left with nothing at all. Nurses were filling patients water jugs up using other patients water instead of fresh water. The nurses said they change the water 3 times a day but they don't. It got to a point where I had to have bottled water bought into me. My skin was that dry it looked like I had eczema but was never checked by nurses again I asked for cream but was never supplied any so again I had to buy my own and supply my cream to other patients as the same thing happened to others aswell.

The nurses spoke to me and my family with attitude. My experience was that bad I am now having night terrors about the staff and hospital if it ever comes to the point I need hospital treatment again I would never return there

I shouldn't be scared of a place that is supposed to help people but all it has done for me is traumatised me.

Dear LeedOD

So sorry to read your about your experience at Heartlands Hospital. I have forwarded your email to the Matron who is responsible for ward 4.

Could I please ask that you contact Patient Services department on 0121 424 0808, where we will take your details and pass them onto the Matron who will start an investigation into your concerns?

Kind regards
