Mum was admitted to Ward 2 on Sunday 1st June 2014 and sadly died in room 13 on Saturday 7th June. We want to say a massive thank you to all the staff for the love, care and genuine concern that was given not only to Mum but to the three of us as we attended her bedside throughout those 6 traumatic days. We honestly could not have asked for anything better and, particularly knowing and experiencing just how busy the ward was, we were amazed at the patience and detail to care not only shown to Mum medically but also to ourselves practically and emotionally. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble! We genuinely saw this standard of care extended to all patients on the ward, one particular time witnessing a patient hit out and assault different members of staff and still they continued to care for her with the same care and patience. This surely is to be commended! Service, treatment and care of this standard can only be attributed to the dedication and commitment of the staff and we all greatly appreciated this as it made our very sad week more bearable. We could not possibly single any one member of staff out for exemplary service; consultants, doctors, staff nurses, and healthcare nurses alike all exhibited the same level of care and compassion which so evidently culminated in a formidable team. Our grateful thanks go to all the whole team.
