About: Royal Bolton Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

Staff were helpful and polite.

What could be improved

The admissions/discharge area is a dump. I came to collect a relative who had been made to wait there over 4 hours before she could leave as the pharmacy hadn't delivered her medication. This should have been organised before leaving the ward. To have sick people sat waiting hours on end because of bad organisation is just not good enough.

Using a discharge lounge for patients who are ready to go home means that we can clean and prepare beds on wards for patients who need to be admitted. We're sorry that you felt the environment was poor. Ideally your relative's medication should be sorted out more quickly than was the case and we apologise for that. We are always looking for ways to improve our services and your comments will be passed on to the relevant staff with this in mind.
