"A right rum lot at the Royal Berkshire Hospital...."

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

I have been chasing the Neurology Department since 17 February 2014 to sort out a misdiagnosis made by one of its part time consultants but to date I am no nearer to getting things sorted out than I was 5 months ago. When you attend hospital you expect the Consultant seeing you to be fully trained, knowledgeable and keen to undertake medical tests to arrive at a diagnosis that is based on medical tests. My experience at the RBH Neurology Dept is that they have a consultant on their books who prefers to save time and cut corners by jumping to conclusions with the tedium of organising test. When as time passed by I realised the diagnosis was totally wrong on not based on facts I complained. That resulted the Consultant involved instructing his secretary to say "he is too busy" to respond to my company. I then asked for a second opinion via my GP. The first consultants senior has been written to but the same response "total silence". Clearly there is a policy at the RBH to ignore complaints in the hope the patient will give up and that way the complaint is no longer a problem.
