My 16 year old son was brought in by ambulance following a severe allergic reaction. Paramedics were great and gave him gas and air for pain, even offering morphine as he was in agony. However on arrival at A and E the triage nurse was hostile and disinterested and whining about him being brought by ambulance. We explained he suffered from anaphylaxis and the ambulance control had advised use of his epipen. He was then shoved in a waiting room with no treatment at all. His condition was deteriorating so I took him away somewhere he could get treatment!! They were busy and I think it led them to be negligent. Would not recommend anyone to go there unless you happen to arrive at a very quiet time when you don't have to worry about ineffective triage and incompetent nursing staff. Doctors there are consistently good but the nursing staff leave much to be desired!
"Truly dreadful A and E department!"
