"Shameful"

My review is of antenatal care. It all began when I was referred by my GP at 7 weeks pregnant for hyperemesis (extreme vomiting). My GP had carried out tests to confirm I was severely dehydrated and passed this on to the midwives. On arrival I was told by the midwives they couldn't go off GPS diagnosis so therefore couldn't start treatment until they had come to their own diagnosis. It took 2 hours eventually for a drip to be started. Despite me producing a full vomit bowl every 20 minutes the first line of treatment was an anti sickness TABLET. How they thought this would work I don't know but again I had to try first and they had to see me vomit it back before giving me an injection of the same drug. When I was given the injection the midwife asked me to lie on my side but didn't warn me of the impending injection since another midwife was sorting out my cannula, she gave me the injection to which I nearly jumped off the bed I was so suprised. The next day I realised she had actually damaged a nerve which bothered me for the next 6 months., After a few hours the EPAU were closing and I heard the midwives discussing what to do with me in a derogatory manner, one suggested packing me off home and to get on with it since she just had to suffer when pregnant. In the end I was transferred to another ward since still very dehydrated and continued on IV fluid overnight. Except my drip ran out at midnight and despite me telling the midwife this at the time I woke up at 8am to find she had just clamped it off and not replaced. Tests showed that this made me as dehydrated as when I went in! I'm a nurse so know what care is and this was not it. I dreaded labour and having to go to this hospital again, I opted for a home birth to avoid going here after researching my options. I also suffered following this from anxiety which is extremely unusual for me so I'm certain it was the dread following this care
