"Abysmal care and cleanliness."

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

You will be delighted to know that I have been in cleaner commercial warehouses than is the standard in this hospital. Having informed a consultant to be told it is not his problem take it to someone else. Not good enough once they are aware of a problem I don't care who they are they should own the problem and see it is dealt with. The term care and patient should be removed from the NHS. Care is non exsistant, it is a word that is misused by all in the NHS. Patient should be replaced with customer as all who visit the NHS are customers and should be treated as such, NHS staff should be aware that it is these customers who pay there wages. I could give an individual case of filth but I will wait until it appears in the national press they I will go as a witness to support who ever is in trouble.

Thank you for providing feedback on your recent experience of Urology at University Hospital, Coventry in June 2014. It is disappointing to hear that when you mentioned an area of concern the consultant did not take ownership of the issue. The Trust is proud of the cleanliness of our hospitals and this is borne out by our yearly fall in hospital acquired infections. However, we would very much welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns with you so that the message of ownership can be passed to the appropriate personnel. If you feel this would be useful please contact the Trust’s Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0800 028 4203. If you would prefer to contact us by e-mail, our address is feedback@uhcw.nhs.uk Alternatively, you can write to us at the following address: - PALS University Hospital Clifford Bridge Road Coventry CV2 2DX If you do decide to contact us, please make us aware that you have left comments on the NHS Choices website. The Trust is grateful for all feedback, positive or negative, as it means we can better understand what is important to our patients. Thank you for leaving your comments on NHS Choices.
