"Mis-used of DNA"

About: Salisbury District Hospital

After a doctor referral appointment was given for 2 months ahead for audiology, doctor thought this too long and arranged emergency appointment in ent. At this appointment it was determined audiology should be done close to other treatment and appointment pre arrange to be cancelled. When I did get a specialist appointment three months from initial doctor consultation, I queried this as no audiology or other test had been done. Secretary confirm specialist wanted to see me first. At this appointment lambasted for not attending and notes say DNA for audiology. This is a mis classification as ent outpatients failed to write to gp, failed to cancel appointment or confirm it was still necessary. How can we trust the reports of DNA.

Thank you for getting in touch; I’m sorry that there seems to have been a breakdown in communication. We’d like to make sure that this is sorted out, and would be grateful if you could contact our audiology team either on 01722 429335 or email on audiology@salisbury.nhs.uk It’s important for us to hear about our patients’ experiences so we can learn from them. Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback.
