"Having to leave an elderly Mother in incapable..."

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital

I live in London & got a phone call from my Mother's Nursing Home to say that she was being rushed to Queen Mary's after falling at the home & hitting her head. I had to drive 70 miles. to her home & then another 25 to Margate. The staff were quite pleasant on the 1st day..but I could tell that my Mother was very anxious .The next day when I drove 25milesagain-I was confronted with a frightened ,humiliated 92 yr. old . They would not discharge her without the Specialists say so. She has to be there for 5 days. They have no TV room, no library & all she could do was sit in the chair next to her bed all day..looking at nothing. I asked the Sister if I could have a wheel chair to take her for some fresh air-she laughed at me & said "We don't have any" ...I said you must it's a hospital -she said go -look in all the corridors...which I did & found none at all!! Getting back to my Mother -she needed help to go to bathroom & we kept trying to ring her bell-but it didn't work. So I asked a nurse to help & she said that my Mum didn't need assistance....but in the Nursing home .Most days she cannot even stand up unaided...after 2 hrs of being their -I felt like i was in a concentration camp.with the most uncaring people & for the 1st time in 2 yrs of being by my Mum's side during her illness-I had to leave (the Mental pain was too much )......I have no partner to help me & most relatives live in London so this experience has really unnerved me !!
