First of all i received a letter 20mins prior to me apparently having an appointment that day for booking in. We got there for before our appointment time. We didn't get seen at all until 5pm when my appointment time was 3.10pm. From 3.30pm we was told we were next to be seen. This was awful as i had my 2year old son with a 18moth old delay with us getting board ratty, hungry, in the end we had to get a family member to come and pick him up and take him home. I also have a passing out issue and pain issues that are currently under investigation, so i need all of my appointments to be on time as i tend to have several in a day and can not be late for either of them. The reception staff and the midwifes were all getting confused of who was the next person to see as they were all taking files willy nilly and not in order. They also had a poor girl waiting an hour and half to be told she's been given an appointment too early and she has to go home and come back in a couple of weeks as the midwife wont be seeing her until then. Yesterday proved to me that they didn't know their elbow to their back side. The midwife i saw though was lovely and actually listened to me (i have quite an extensive history), she double and triple checked before she wrote anything down she made me feel more at ease talking to her and she was just a lovely woman who enjoys what she is doing. That's what this hospital needs not a refurbishment staff that actually love what they are doing and that isn't just a job or they have been doing it for that long that the passion has gone. I really feel if you had more caring staff you wouldn't have any issues.
"Not a very good visit for my first booking in..."
