"The casualty staff were great ..."

About: Broomfield Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The casualty staff were great and were regularly checking I was OK, even though the department was extremely busy with a lot of severe cases. The ward staff were also very good at hurrying up my scans etc because they knew I was anxious about having them done.

What could be improved

One member of staff on the ward was very patronizing (I'm only 18), and at times quite rude.

Anything else?

I was there with a suspected clot on my lungs and severe tachycardia, so the staff refused to let me walk for fear of me going into cardiac arrest. I could understand what they were saying, but none of them seemed to appreciate that I had a severe fear of lifts, and them getting angry wasn't doing anything for lowering my heart-rate.
