Firstly, I must state that this review is by a family visitor and not the patient (who is unable to write or speak, due to a severe stroke). I witnessed, over a five month period, the highest level of care on the Harvest award at Queens hospital. The staff were always busy and on their feet, yet they still had time to talk to the patients and their respective families. One member of staff shines out, their level of commitment and care was exemplary, he is a credit to the NHS.The wards were very clean, as were the bedding and patients. At one particular meeting, having done my research, I asked if my family member could be fed by PEG instead of via the nose. They agreed and indeed within a week this procedure was carried out. My family member has now moved on to a Nursing Home and we can only hope that they receive the same level of care.
