"Extremely disappointed in the consultant I saw"

(as the patient),

Today I had an appointment with a gynae consultant. This was not who I was supposed to be seeing according to my appointment letter.

I was left waiting for an hour without an apology, before meeting this condescending and patronising consultant, who proceeded to ignore what I was saying.

This left me distressed and having to call a family member in for support. My mother found this consultant equally difficult to deal with.

Not only had the consultant failed to gather my complete scan history- leaving me bewildered as to how I could be 'signed off' without the full picture. This consultant didn't allow me to portray my thoughts, and when I did manage to get a word in edgeways, failed to understand the fundamental basics of what I was saying.

The only saving grace for today's visit was the attitude of the nurse that assisted with the less than gentle internal investigation performed. This lady was exceptionally kind and made me feel 100% better.
