About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

Very unsatisfied with the secretary's in this department. I had to contact them myself three times to see about my referral for which they kept saying they hadn't recieved then realised they had actually recieved it weeks ago so this caused many problems in getting a quick appointment. Wasn't happy with the way the dermatologist responded to me in clinic. Felt like he didn't listen to what I had said and that he was purposely asking questions I couldn't answer making me feel stupid. He also asked questions that I felt he should already know the answer to if he had looked through my notes thoroughly. Came away very disatisfied.

Thank you for your comment.  We are very sorry to hear of your experiences in the Dermatology department leading up to your appointment in June. Your appointment would be processed by our directorate centralised appointments office where it would be registered and assessed by the clinician, the turnaround time for this is usually 5 working days. We are sorry if this was not the case on this occasion. With regards to your consultation with the consultant in clinic we can only apologise for any stress and anxiety caused by the interaction with the consultant in question. Please accept apologies on behalf of the department from Ms Gray, Directorate Manager and Mr Clarke, Clinical Director. Your concerns will be fed back to the consultants in the department as a point of learning.
